Shooting Incident in West Plains Monday Evening Leads To More Questions Than Answers

West Plains, Mo. – A shooting incident Monday night in West Plains is leading to more questions than answers for concerned citizens.

The incident began on Monday at 5:51 p.m. when gunshots were heard in the area of Walker Street. Officers with the West Plains Police Department responded but found no evidence of a disturbance.

At 6:08 p.m. that same evening, officers received more information about a shooting in the area of Grace and Woods Avenues. Bullet holes were discovered in a residence in the 200 block of Woods and a report was taken that a subject in a light-colored SUV had shot at the residence.

Further investigation lead to a victim on Wednesday. The victim, a 23-year-old man, had been shot through the right leg but did not report the incident or seek medical treatment. He told officers that a man wearing a mask and armed with a handgun had told him to get into a light-colored SUV. When the victim refused, he was shot at and wounded.
