Show your support for MSU-WP through #GrizzliesGive campaign

WEST PLAINS, Mo. – For 58 years, Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) has helped students near and far achieve their dreams for a brighter future, thanks in large part to the generous support of friends and residents in the communities it serves. This year, university officials are asking alumni and friends to show their support for MSU-WP during the #GrizzliesGive campaign Oct. 13-14. Officials are hoping to receive 580 gifts – in any amount for any program – to celebrate the campus’s 58 years. They also have a couple of projects earmarked for funding:

            • the “Front Door” project, which includes a permanent sign marking the entrance to campus

            • shooting equipment for the Grizzly Basketball program

The fundraising goal for each project is $10,000 and $6,000, respectively.

Become an volunteer Advocate

In addition to gifts, university officials are looking for volunteer Grizzly Advocates to help promote the #GrizzliesGive campaign. Advocates will use their social media accounts to encourage friends, family members and classmates to give to MSU-WP.  Those interested can sign-up via http://maroonation.missouristate.edu/grizzlies-give. Those who register will receive a link to the Advocate training recording via email. The first 250 people who sign up as advocates will receive a swag bag with unique #GrizzliesGive items.

Campaign kicks off with Oct. 13 rally

The #GrizzliesGive campaign will officially kick off with a rally at 10 a.m. Oct. 13 at the MSU-WP amphitheater. Those who attend will receive a free bandana and enjoy light refreshments. Guest speakers include MSU-WP Interim Chancellor Dennis Lancaster, Grizzly Basketball Head Coach Jared Phay, Business and Support Services Director Crockett Oaks and Missouri State University Board of Governors member Carol Silvey. Advocates can receive their swag bags at the event. Those who cannot attend will have their bags mailed to them.
