Six Injured in Salem, MO. UTV Crash

Salem, MO. – Six teens were injured in a crash involving a UTV on Saturday, July 28th.

This crash took place near Salem, MO. on County Road 5013, and was investigated by Corporal G.R. Moravec of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop I.

The UTV being operated was a Can-Am Defender UTV, and the driver was Avery Erway, an 18-year-old female from Salem, MO. According to the report, Erway ran off the right side of the roadway and overcorrected, causing an overturn.

The driver sustained moderate injuries. In addition, five 18-year-old occupants from multiple other towns in Missouri were injured, with injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Four of the girls were taken to Salem Memorial Hospital, and two were taken to Phelps Health in Rolla for recovery.
