Six new COVID-19 cases identified in Howell Co.

Howell County Health Department reports that an additional six cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the county. This brings the year to date total number of cases to 175.  Currently, there are nineteen known active cases in the county. Of the nineteen cases, two are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

Five of the new cases reside in the West Plains area and one lives in the Mountain View area. All six cases are currently isolating under public health guidance. Five of the infections were community spread, or the infections were from an unknown source and one has been linked to a known case. Significant contacts to these cases have been notified by the health department. There were no exposures to the general public related to any of these cases.
