“The presentation will focus on how university communications uses its social media channels to promote the university, with an emphasis on event promotion and tailoring content to each channel’s audience,” he said.

In addition to the presentation, Friends members will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their organization. Formed in 1992 shortly after the opening of the Garnett Library, the Friends organization provides a valuable link between the community and the university in helping to raise awareness of the services offered by the library and its needs.

The meeting will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in rooms 104 and 105 of the Lybyer Technology Center. Parking is available in the lot on the north side of Lybyer.

Masking is encouraged, organizers said, adding masks will be available at the door.

Cost of the box lunch is $10, payable at the door. Those wishing to eat should make a reservation by calling 417-255-7940 or emailing FriendsofGarnettLibrary@MissouriState.edu by 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 9.
