South Central Correctional Center Officer Arrested for Attempting to Smuggle Drugs

Licking, MO. – A Correctional Officer from the South Central Correctional Center in Licking has been arrested following the conclusion of an investigation on April 6th.

Paige Cook of Cabool, the correctional officer in question, was found to have had telephonic communication with an inmate of the facility outside of work hours.

The Licking Police Department was included in the investigation, and an officer conducted an interview with Cook. There, Cook admitted to having things in her vehicle she had intended to take to the inmate, which was reportedly given to her by the inmate’s family. Included in the items were rolls of paper soaked in synthetic cannabinoids, wrapped in plastic wrap, and a pill identified as a DEA Schedule IV controlled substance.

Cook is charged with a Class D Felony Charge of Delivery or Possession of a Controlled Substance at a Correction Center and has been released.
