Over the weekend, Clea’s At Home Market announced its intention to close its doors later this year. In a video posted to Facebook, the business owners stated that the shopping center their store is located in has been sold and the new owner does not see the store as a fit in the center once it is remodeled.
Ozark Radio News spoke with current Southern Hills Shopping Center owner Travis Smith. Smith confirmed that Southern Hills has entered negotiations with a St. Louis-based developer to sell the shopping center.
Smith said that no businesses were being forced out, the shopping center was just looking to secure a long-term commitment:
Smith, who is running for State Representative in 155th District, said the decision to sell has nothing to do with his political aspirations.
