Special Blood Drive in Honor of National Donate Life Month in Willow Springs April 14

Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood, platelets, and plasma to patients at 44 area healthcare facilities, is pleased to announce a special “Save a Life Blood Drive” in honor of National Donate Life Month in Willow Springs Friday, April 14.

Heather Duddridge is urging the community to support this event, “CBCO, Mid-America Transplant, and Be the Match have helped so many in the Willow Springs community. I am a kidney transplant recipient myself. Others have received kidneys, liver, and bone marrow. We have others who have had blood transfusions, one receiving approximately 30 units in recent years. My goal is to raise awareness of the needs these organizations meet on a daily basis. We don’t think about it until it either affects us personally or someone we personally know. April is National Donate Life Month. What seems like something so little, means so much to the recipient.”

The blood drive will take place on Friday, April 14 at Crossway Fellowship Church in Willow Springs, 220 Drew Street. Drive hours are 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Successful donors at the Save a Life Blood Drive will receive a voucher redeemable for two free tickets, valued up to $74.00, to ONE of the following attractions:

  • The Discovery Center – Springfield, MO
  • The Scott Family Amazeum – Bentonville, AR
  • Beyond the Lens! – Branson, MO

Photo identification is required. Please eat well and drink plenty of fluids prior to the blood drive.

There is no easier way to save a life than to give blood. Every blood donation can help up to three local patients.

To help avoid wait times, appointments are strongly encouraged. Donors can schedule an appointment at www.cbco.org/donate-blood. On behalf of local hospital patients, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks thanks blood donors from across the region for giving life to your community.
