Springfield Truck Driver Injured in Ozark County Accident

A Springfield truck driver was seriously injured Wednesday morning in a single‑vehicle crash on Highway J, about twelve miles south of Gainesville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 9 a.m. when a northbound 2020 Freightliner Cascadia ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, and then went off the left side. The truck sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene at the request of the trooper.

The driver, a 36‑year‑old man who was not wearing a safety device, suffered serious injuries. Ozark County EMS transported him to Baxter Hospital. The Gainesville Fire Department assisted at the scene.
