Squires, MO. – Heroes across Douglas County are coming together for a cause that saves lives. Squires first responders are teaming up with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood, plasma, and platelets to patients at more than 40 area hospitals, for the fourth annual Squires Boots, Badges and Bandages Community Blood Drive, taking place on Saturday, September 26.
Donors will receive a voucher for two free admissions to Dickerson Park Zoo and a Boots, Badges and Bandages T-Shirt.
The blood drive will take place on Saturday, September 26, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Squires Volunteer Fire Department, 10 HC 2.
The Boots, Badges and Bandages Community Challenge Blood Drive is a powerful way for residents to support local patients while honoring the commitment of area fire, police, and EMS teams. This friendly competition awards a traveling trophy to the agency with the most donor support. The Squires Fire Department won the trophy last year. Which agency will take home the trophy this year?
Squires first responders know the enormous importance and healing power of a timely blood transfusion. “As first responders, we understand how important it is to have a strong blood supply when emergencies happen,” Squires Fire Chief Travis Veldkamp said. “We are excited to be part of another Boots and Badges blood drive and hope the friendly competition brings even more people out to donate. At the end of the day, the real winners are the patients whose lives are saved by those donations.”
