UPDATE: Suspect taken into custody at approximately 11am. The suspect is identified as Daniel G. Johnson of Alton. The Missouri Highway Patrol tells Ozark Radio News that Johnson was wanted on an Oregon County warrant for a felony abuse charge. The U.S. Marshall Service assisted in apprehending Johnson. Howell County, Oregon County and the Missouri State Highway Patrol all assisted in the eventual arrest of Johnson.
UPDATE: The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirms that Howell County SWAT had initially assisted with a warrant from U.S. Marshalls before handing off SWAT operations to Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Law enforcement continues to try and safely remove the suspect from the home on AA Highway, east of Alton. There are no other individuals believed to be inside the home, and there is no threat to public safety.
Very little information is being released about an ongoing standoff in Oregon County on AA Highway, near Alton. Law enforcement tells Ozark Radio News that the standoff began late Thursday afternoon. More details will be provided as they become available.
