Mountain View, AR. – A woman from Mountain View, AR. who stole money from the bank accounts of elderly victims has pleaded guilty in court recently, and has received probation as a part of her plea agreement with the state of Arkansas. Susan Ross, 37, worked for Simmons Bank from August of 2021 to October of 2022 and stole over $28,000 in cash from the accounts of 6 people from ages 80 to 93.
According to the probable cause affidavit on the case, Ross targeted these individuals for their high value accounts that weren’t checked often. One of the six accounts was even listed as being for an individual that was deceased.
In total, Ross has pleaded guilty to 29 counts of identity fraud and five counts of theft of property, along with two additional misdemeanor theft charges.
All victims were contacted and the accounts were made correct by the bank.
