Eminence, MO. – One of the several crashes over this weekend was one to an individual from Eminence who overturned their vehicle. The Shannon County First Responders issued this statement on the accident:
Several local emergency agencies responded to a serious accident around 2:30 pm on Sunday August 20th on State Route 19 three miles south of Eminence. A pick up truck went off the side of the road and about 30 feet down the embankment before coming to rest on its roof. The victim was able to be extracted through the truck’s side window.
Shannon County First Responders and Eminence Area Volunteer Fire Department personnel treated the victim on scene. He was lifted up to the roadside on a backboard with the help of several volunteers.
He was further treated in the Mercy ambulance and stabilized for flight. A Mercy Life Line helicopter landed at the Eminence Fire Station and he was transported by air to a trauma center.
This rescue was a coordinated effort by several local agencies including Mercy EMS, Shannon County First Responders, Eminence Area Volunteer Fire Department, the Shannon County Sherif’s Department, and Missouri Highway Patrol who worked in one hundred degree temperatures to extract, treat and transport the victim
