Sunrise Rotary Club makes $1,000 donation to Imagination Library

Officials with the West Plains Sunrise Rotary Club announce they have made a $1,000 donation to the Imagination Library. According to the Imagination Library website, “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth to age five in participating communities within the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Republic of Ireland. In 1995, Dolly Parton launched an exciting new effort, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, to benefit the children of her home county in East Tennessee, USA. Dolly’s vision was to foster a love of reading among her county’s preschool children and their families by providing them with the gift of a specially selected book each month.”

Nathan Cropper, Sunrise Rotary member, presented the check to Whitney Frazier, Imagination Library West Plains. Cropper said, “The Imagination Library – West Plains is a great organization that focuses on sending books to young children that might not otherwise have access to them. The Sunrise Rotary Club is always happy to help an organization that assists our area kids.”
