Suspect charged with multiple felonies during Sept-Oct burglary spree

West Plains, MO. – The suspect of multiple burglaries in West Plains in recent months has been charged with multiple felonies. 

Taylor Scott Wilcox, age 31, has received a total of five charges of 2nd-degree burglary, 2 charges of 1st-degree property damage, possession of burglary tools, resisting arrest, and stealing a controlled substance. These instances occurred between September 25th and October 6th.

According to the multiple probable cause statements, on the night of Sept. 25th and the morning of Sept. 26th, Wilcox allegedly burglarized multiple locations on Kentucky Avenue in West Plains, including St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy, and Embellish Salon. Wilcox is accused of breaking into the pharmacy and stealing prescription drugs, of breaking into the church and stealing items and cash, and of setting a fire outside of the salon, damaging the building.

On Oct. 6th, Wilcox is accused of burglarizing His Place House of Worship and intentionally damaging a vehicle on the property, and of burglarizing Liquidation Junkies and stealing several knives, machetes, a pair of gloves, and a wifi camera.

Many of the stolen items, including the stolen drugs, knives, and gloves, were recovered when Wilcox was arrested on October 17th during a separate burglary at Car-Mart in West Plains. Wilcox is charged with 2nd-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, and resisting arrest for the Oct. 17th events.

In addition to the recent charges, Wilcox is being held in jail for violating parole/probation from previous burglary-related convictions from 2021 incidents.
