Suspect in Troop G shooting found dead by suicide in Florida

West Plains, MO. – The suspect in a case where a trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol was shot at during an attempted traffic stop was found dead in Florida last week.

According to the M.S.H.P. Troop G Twitter post, Christopher Storlie was identified by Tribal Police officers at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino located near Hollywood, Florida on December 30, 2022. The cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to preliminary information.

Storlie was wanted for shooting at a trooper on December 18, 2022 during an attempted traffic stop on Storlie’s vehicle as he travelled in Carter County.
