West Plains, MO. – A local veterinarian clinc in West Plains announced on social media recently that the last days of 2023 coincided with the last days of their head vet, as well as another vet heading up the ownership.
This news pertained to the Talbert Animal Health Center, located at 3001 Porter Wagoner Blvd in West Plains. The announcement mentioned that after 35 years of practicing animal medicine in the area, that Doctor Steve Talburt will be retiring.

“As he prepares to spend more time with his family and perhaps catch a fish or two, Dr. Talburt is pleased to announce that he will be leaving the clinic in the very capable hands of his partner, Dr. Wes Gunter. The two have worked side by side for 20 years and expect the transition of leadership to be seamless. Dr. Gunter will assume full ownership of the business on January 2, 2024.”
