West Plains, MO. – It’s Tax Season once again. Many people will be receiving and filling out their paperwork to recover owed money from a number of sources. However, this season also means that certain scams are on the rise, particularly targeting the elderly.
We spoke to Joy Pace from the West Plains Senior Center about the frequency of these situations, and how senior citizens can prepare themselves for this time of year. She states that the West Plains Senior Center, and other Centers are providing a free-to-participate tax program for citizens 60 years-of-age or older.
This program includes access to tax experts who will be able to not only help people fill out information on tax forms, but also to educate people on what to look out for when it comes to scams.
Questions on the program can be directed at 417 256 4055.
