Houston, MO. – Texas County Memorial Hospital, or TCMH, recently received an $81,000 grant from a program called Rural Citizens Access to Telehealth, which is provided by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
According to a recent announcement from the hospital, this grant money will be going toward a AI system that was implemented last year that helps to detect if and how a stroke has occurred in a patient. This happens as the program interprets the data from a CT scan of the patient, and a neurologist at Cox in Springfield then interprets the data from the program. This program is called RapidAI, which is a tool used by Class 1 facilities for stroke care nationwide.
This diagnosis option is a critical piece of care in those who suffer from a stroke, as treatment for a stroke needs to happen quickly.
