West Plains, MO. – A West Plains teen was injured when the driver of the vehicle crash avoiding wildlife on the roadway Sunday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred at 12:45 a.m. on County Road 4300, one mile west of West Plains on Sunday, December 4.
A westbound 2003 Ford Ranger driven by a 17-year old female swerved to avoid a deer and ran off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment. Her passenger, Jaden Rybolt, age 18 of West Plains, suffered moderate injuries in the crash. Rybolt was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment. Neither Rybolt or the driver had been wearing a seatbelt during the crash.
