Texas County Cold Case To Air On Television This October

Texas County, MO. – Readers and listeners of the Ozark Radio Network have likely heard of the cold murder case regarding a man from Texas County in 2007. Tommie Whetzell, 63 of Liberal, MO, has remained in police custody since the death of Ricky Luebbert in 2007.

Next month, this case will feature in a national television program known as “Cold Justice”, and during production of this show, additional information was produced to officially charge Whetzell of 1st Degree Murder and Discharge of a Firearm at or From a Motor Vehicle.

This case will feature prominently in the Oxygen Networks 7th season in two-parts, set to drop on October 1st and 8th. Cold Justice is a program that follows a prosecutor and a team of detective that assists local law enforcement offices around the country in following up on cold cases, and has led to 55 arrests and 21 different convictions.
