On October 7, 2020, at approximately 12:15 AM, Texas County Deputies were dispatched to a report of a male subject wishing to turn himself in at the Mountain Grove Police Department for an assault on a female victim. A deputy responded to a residence on Little Creek Road in the Mountain Grove area to contact the victim. The victim reported that the male suspect choked her and punched her in the face. The deputy observed marks and injuries consistent with the report.
The suspect Ronald Mitchell was arrested at the Mountain Grove Police Department and transported to the Texas County Jail. During an interview Mitchell admitted to striking the victim.
Texas County Prosecuting Attorney Parke Stevens charged Ronald L. Mitchell age 58, of Mountain Grove with Domestic Assault 2nd Degree. Mitchell was held in the Texas County Jail pending $250,000 bond.
