Houston, MO. – The Texas County Sheriff, Scott Lindsey, has formally announced his bid for re-election as sheriff in 2024. This announcement will be posted below, unedited.
Texas County Sheriff Scott Lindsey formally announces plans to seek re-election as
Sheriff in 2024. Sheriff Lindsey was first elected during a special election in 2018 and was reelected to a full term in 2020. Sheriff Lindsey, who is a member of the Texas County
Republican Party released the following statement: “I look forward to the opportunity of
seeking re-election to serve the citizens of Texas County as their Sheriff. Being the elected
chief law enforcement officer of the county is a tremendous responsibility and challenge. I am grateful for the opportunity I have been given to make a positive impact on the quality of life in Texas County. With the support and prayers of the citizens of this county, my team has been able to accomplish many goals, however the work is not done, and we are constantly evaluating ways that we can improve the services we provide”.
Sheriff Lindsey is a native of Cabool, where he graduated high school. He attended
Drury University and their law enforcement academy obtaining a Bachelor of Science in
criminal justice. Sheriff Lindsey has been a law enforcement officer for 25 years. Prior to
being elected Sheriff he served with the Licking Police Department for 20 years, including the final 12 years as Chief of Police. Sheriff Lindsey resides in Cabool with his wife Mandy, son Carson, and daughter Teagan. Sheriff Lindsey is a deacon at Cabool Christian Church and enjoys volunteering his time to broadcast and photograph local high school sports.
