Plato, MO. – The Texas County Sheriff’s Office made an announcement Friday outlining details on a hot vehicle pursuit that occurred on the same day.
The announcement stated that they were chasing an individual named Stanley Smith, 53, through Texas County, with the chase ending in the 11100 area of Turley Road near Highway M. The chase ended when Smith abandoned his vehicle and fled into a wooded area.

On the night of the 9th, Smith had not been apprehended, and a search was enacted. The public was advised to be vigilant for any suspicious activity. On the morning of February 10th, Smith was captured and taken into custody.
