Thayer Police Investigate Rash of Vehicle Tampering, Leads to Arrest

Thayer, MO. – The city of Thayer, MO. experienced a rash of vehicle tampering events, numbering roughly 12 separate cases. This spurred investigation from the Thayer Police Department, and one teen has been arrested as a result.

This happened around September 21st. On the next day, Danny Curtis, an 18-year-old Thayer resident, was arrested for an unrelated warrant and for further investigation implicating him as being a part of the vehicle tampering cases. A search warrant was procured for Curtis’ residence, which led to an official warrant in relation to the vehicle tampering.

Arrest charges include Felony Stealing of Postal or Delivery Item, and 12 counts of 2nd Degree Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $25,000, which was posted shortly after.

The Thayer Police Department went on to thank the community for their help during the investigation.
