The City Of Forsyth, Missouri Was Placed Under A Boil Advisory

Forsyth, MO. – The city of Forsyth was placed under a temporary boil advisory.

On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, around 3:30 p.m., a utility contractor broke an 8-inch water main parallel to Coy Avenue. The affected area encompasses everything north and west of Swan Creek, including downtown and along State Highway 160. Residents can expect low water pressure or no water at all and crews are working around the clock to repair the water main.

These customers should observe the following directions:

  • 1. Boil water vigorously for three minutes before use. Use only boiled water for drinking, diluting fruit juices, and all other food preparations.
  • 2. Dispose of ice cubes, and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker. Remake ice cubes with boiled water.
  • 3. Disinfect dishes and other food-contact surfaces by immersing them for at least one minute in clean tap water containing one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon.
  • 4. Water used for bathing does not need to be boiled. However, children must be supervised while bathing to prevent ingesting the water. Persons with cuts or severe rashes may want to consult their physician before bathing.
