Eminence, MO. – Those who may have an interest in angling may have a reason to visit Eminence next month, as Ozark National Scenic Riverways will be hosting a series of free, instructional workshops dedicated to learning fly fishing, starting in early September.
People interested should sign up for the class quickly, as only 10 slots are available. Park Ranger Mark Van Patten, an inductee into the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame, will be the instructor for these workshops.
Fly rods and reels will also be supplied for those who do not have their own.
However, these workshops are expected to last the entire day they take place, and participants are expected to bring a few things along with them:
- Valid Missouri fishing permit if 16 years or older.
- A Trout Permit is required for all ages, if under age 16 the cost is half price ($5.00)
- Waders or something to wear while wading (no open-toed shoes)
- Hat
- Sunglasses (polarized preferred)
- Sunscreen
- Bug spray
- Lunch
- Water
The specific days for these workshops are September 8th and 15th, and October 6, and the location has been set at the Mt. Zion Church north of Akers.
