Pomona, MO. – Three individuals became stuck on the night of Friday, March 24th, as flood waters surpassed what their vehicle could handle. The time of this event was just after 11:00pm, with emergency response arriving on-scene at roughly 11:19pm.
Master Sergeant Meyer of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G was the representative investigator on this incident. 3 individuals attempted to cross a flooded roadway on County Road 2490 and 1820. There was 5 feet of water in the area, spanning 600 feet, and surpassed what the vehicle was capable of crossing; this caused the individuals to have to call 911 from atop the truck.
All three individuals were able to make their way back to dry land before law enforcement arrived, and no injuries were reported. However, one female victim was transported to Ozarks Healthcare for precautionary measures, and an intoxicated passenger was released at the scene.
