Three Ava Men Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charges

Ava, MO. – Three men from the Ava area have been arrested as of March 15th on charges of drug trafficking after a traffic stop led to an investigation.

Deputy Aaron Box was the initiator of the traffic stop that led to the arrest. It took place on Highway 5 as he witnessed a speeding vehicle. During the stop, Box began to suspect the vehicle’s occupants were transporting illegal narcotics and contacted Corporal Nelson to bring K9 Amigo.

On arrival and search, K9 Amigo alerted to narcotics and over 30 grams of methamphetamine was found. Eric Mitchell, 30, Robert Beckwith, 27, and Dale Broyles, 54, were all arrested for charges of 2nd Degree Drug Trafficking, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Their bond was set at $50,000, cash only.
