Three Digits Worth of Volunteers Help to Locate Missing Child During Friday Storm

Tecumseh, MO. – During the heavy rain and even heavier winds during Friday storms, buildings were damaged, and roads were flooded, but perhaps most concerning was the fact that a child went missing in the area of Tecumseh.

The child was found safe before the end of the search, which began when 2-year-old Waylon Loftis escaped his home while following after the family dog out of the residence.

A call-to-action was performed by local emergency responders including law enforcement, medical personnel, and fire departments, and reports state that 90 to 100 people volunteered their time to help search for the child. Waylon was found by Johnathan Belt, a paramedic who joined in the search.
