Three Injured in DWI-Related Shannon County Crash

Montier, MO. – A vehicle has been totaled, and two adults and one minor have been injured following a DWI-related crash on Saturday, September 9th.

This crash occurred at 1:10pm in Shannon County. The specific location was Old US 60, one mile West of Montier. Tony Banks, a 47-year-old Mountain View resident, was the driver of a Buick Lasabre that travelled off the roadway and struck a tree.

Banks was seriously injured, as was occupant Maeghen Melton, 27 of Mountain View. Both were taken by air ambulance services to Cox South in Springfield. Lastly, one 2-year-old female was inflicted with minor injuries in the accident, and was taken by private conveyance to St Francis in Mountain View for treatment.

Banks is facing several criminal charges as a result of this accident, including DWI – Serious Physical Injury, Driving While Suspended, Failure to Register Motor Vehicle, and No Insurance.
