  2. Christmas Day Fire At Walmart – December 25: Less than a week ago, a fire broke out in the Jewelry Department in the West Plains Walmart that the community is adjusting to as Walmart reopen days later with limited merchandise.
  3. El Charros Rico Charges – August 26: Communities across southwestern Missouri and parts of Arkansas and Oklahoma were stunned at charges against the owners of Mexican restaurants in the region, with some shops remaining closed today.
  4. Power Outage in West Plains – November 20: Residents in West Plains reported a huge blue fire that lit up a Saturday morning, knocked power out for the town, and surged systems in neighboring communities.
  5. Social Security Fraud – December 7: A Mountain View woman plead guilty to Social Security fraud in court after being charged in the theft of her daughter’s identity.
  6. High Speed Chase – October 6: Georgia man leads local police on a high-speed chase across West Plains before being arrested with multiple charges.
  7. Sheriff Seizes Drugs searches for owners – December 9: The Howell County Sheriff nabs man making a drug delivery in South Fork. 
  8. First Elk Harvested In Missouri – October 20: An archer in Missouri made history for harvesting the first elk by bow and arrow in modern times.
