Traffic Pursuit Leads to Arrest of Howell County Wanted Man

West Plains, MO. – A vehicular pursuit led to the arrest of 32-year-old James Allen Peterson Jr. on August 26th.

This comes from the Howell County Sheriff’s Department. They say that it all started when Peterson was observed in a Ford F-150 failing to yield to the West Plains PD. A pursuit then took place across multiple West Plains and County Roads, until Peterson veered off the road and into a nearby field where his vehicle then slowed to a stop and he was taken into custody.

A Howell County vehicle was damaged in the event, and a search of Peterson’s vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia and a set of weighing scales containing meth residue. Peterson also had several prior charges related to assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
