Traffic stop leads to drug arrests

On May 17, 2021 at approximately 9 p.m., Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Hall Street and Hwy 14 in Ava. Contact was made with Jason Boren, 43, of Lebanon, MO and Mindi Willis, 38, of Ava.

Consent to search the vehicle was asked and granted. The deputies discovered and seized Marijuana and Methamphetamine. Both individuals were transported and booked into the Douglas County jail.

Willis was booked on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges. A warrant was issued for Mindi Willis for Possession of Controlled Substance a class D Felony, Possession of Controlled Substance a Class D Misdemeanor, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a Class D Misdemeanor Bond was set at $500 cash with bond conditions of CPS supervision with twice a week testing.
