Traffic Stop Leads to Multiple Felony Drug Charges for Licking Resident

Licking, MO. – What started as a traffic stop for an expired tag has led to the discovery of several controlled substances, and 3 felony charges related to drugs for the driver.

The Licking PD say this arrest happened on September 19th, when a Jeep Cherokee was spotted with expired tags. The driver was told to exit the vehicle during the stop, and an obvious item was being concealed in the suspect’s clothes.

The suspect, identified as Payton Mordis, a 31-year-old Licking resident, refused to reveal the hidden item and was taken into custody. It was later found she was carrying meth, fentanyl, syringes, and Narcan nasal spray.

Her charges include felony 2nd Degree Drug Trafficking, and two felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, in addition to a pair of misdemeanors.
