Trial set for couple accused of stealing over $200,000 from elderly mother

West Plains, MO. – The Pottersville couple accused of stealing over $200,000 from the man’s elderly mother have a jury trial date scheduled to begin in November. 

Jeffrey and Juanita Proffitt are charged with Financial Exploitation of an Elder/Disabled Person and Stealing $25,000 or more, both felonies. The couple is accused of stealing over $204,273.35 from Jeffrey’s mother from July 2019 to August 2021, according to the probable cause statement.
