West Plains, MO. – A two vehicle crash involving a UTV has left four people injured, including two children. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred Sunday, September 25, 2022 at 11:45 a.m. on County Road 106-B between Ellington and Summersville.
A northbound 2016 Caterpillar Arctic Cat driven by Heather Cates, age 38 of Eminence, collided head on with a southbound 2002 Chevy Camaro driven by Trevor Swaringam, age 20 of Ironton.
Cates and her two juvenile male passengers, ages 7 and 12, suffered serious injuries, with the 12 year old being transported by air ambulance to St. Louis Children’s Hospital and the younger child being taken there by ambulance. Cates was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment. Swaringam had been wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries, he was treated at Iron County Medical Center.
