West Plains, MO. – Two people were arrested following a traffic stop earlier this month in Howell County.
On January 4, a deputy with the Howell County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop on a vehicle near South Fork, roughly seven miles south of West Plains on US 160. It was discovered the driver, Chaz Brock, age 38 of Gainesville, Mo., did not have a valid driver’s license. Consent to search the vehicle was given and a 9mm handgun, suspected methamphetamine, and capsules were recovered by authorities.
Brock and his passenger, April Gott, were placed on a 24-hour hold and were released. On January 8th, criminal charges were filed and warrants have been issued.
Chaz Brock is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon, and unlawful possession of a firearm. He has a bond of $15,000 cash or corporate surety.
April Gott is charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon. Her bond is $10,000 cash or corporate surety.
A press release from the Sheriff’s Office stated Gott had an outstanding felony warrant at the time of her arrest but information on that charge, such as what crime was suspected to be committed or the location the warrant was issued from, was not available at the time of release.
