Ava, MO. – Two individuals from Douglas County are facing charges involving the theft of a vehicle, after it was discovered being driven by a third party.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Tuesday, December 13th, where a vehicle was reported as stolen on Highway 14 East. Within the same day, the vehicle was spotted travelling along the same Highway.
A search revealed the location of the vehicle, and law enforcement stopped the driver. In the traffic stop, it was revealed the driver and occupants were unaware they were in a stolen vehicle, and told officers it was borrowed from Sherman Hall, 21, and Laura Ramsey, 39, both of Ava. Both were arrested shortly after.
Hall was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, property damage, resisting arrest, and interfering with a felony arrest. His bond is set at $10,000.
Ramsey was also charged with tampering with a vehicle, property damage, and hindering prosecution of a felony. Her bond is also set at $10,000.
