Norwood, MO – Two children and one adult were injured in an UTV versus Automobile crash on Highway 5 in Grovespring. The accident happened on the evening of September 4 at 5:30 p.m. A 2021 Polaris Ranger UTV driven by Trevor McCanless, 28 of Grovespring, was southbound on Highway 5 when it crossed the centerline and struck a 2004 Chevy Malibu driven by Diane Fraker, 58 of Norwood, head on. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage.
McCanless suffered moderate injuries in the accident and was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon for his injuries. His two passengers, a 4-year-old female and a 7-year-old male suffered minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. No person in the UTV was wearing a safety device. Fraker was wearing a safety device and was not reported to be injured.
This accident was investigated by Trooper Z. Tate with the assistance of Trooper T. Sullivan, Cpl. J. Sellers, and Trooper J. Kenyon of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G.
