West Plains, Mo. – Two people have died in a crash Monday morning in West Plains. The accident occurred between Lanton Road and MO 17 on US 63 at 5:55 a.m. November 15.
According to the West Plains Police Department, two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision. The driver of one vehicle, Otis Matthews, 24 of Memphis, Tenn., was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, Susan Blair, 53 of Thayer, later succumbed to her injuries after being transported to Ozarks Healthcare.
The crash is being investigated by the West Plains Crash Investigators, and the West Plains Police Department and were assisted by the West Plains Fire Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Howell County Coroner, and MODOT.
