The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G, investigated two fatal crashes on July 8th, taking place in Douglas and Reynolds Counties.
Chronologically, the first took place at 4:05pm on Missouri 21. 4 miles South of Centerville, Charles Larsen, 58 of Desoto, MO, ran off the roadway multiple times and overturned his Ford Explorer. He was pronounced deceased on the scene at 5:20pm. This crash was investigated by Trooper K.H. Hall.
The second crash took place on Missouri Route 14, 1 mile West of Sweden, MO in Douglas County. The subject of this crash was the rider of a Harley Davidson motorcycle, 25-year-old Ian Hogan of Hartville, MO. Ian crossed the centerline, skidded, overturned, and was ejected after the vehicle struck the ground. The crash took place at 11:30pm. This crash was investigated by Trooper D.L. Nash.
This brings up the total number of fatalities worked by Troop G in 2023 to 16, as compared to 14 this time last year in 2022.
