Two injured in Saturday morning accident

SUMMERSVILLE, Mo. — Two people were injured, one of them seriously, following a one-vehicle accident in Shannon County early Saturday morning.

A report from the Highway Patrol says the accident happened at 1:30 am on Highway WW south of Summersville when the westbound vehicle driven by 20-year-old Christopher Sandoval of Winona failed to negotiate a curve and ran off-road before hitting several haybales and overturning.

Sandoval was seriously injured in the crash while a passenger, 19-year-old Jacob Wilson of Newark, Mo., suffered minor injuries. Sandoval was transported from the scene of the accident to Mercy Hospital in Springfield while Wilson sought his own medical treatment, according to the report.
