Two More Offender Deaths Announced from South Central Correctional Center

Licking, MO. – Two more offender deaths have been announced from the South Central Correctional Center in Licking, Missouri, with one death reported last week, and another one this week.

The first death pertains to Steven Pope, a 75-year-old man who was serving a life sentence for statutory sodomy from Johnson County. Pope was pronounced deceased on March 1st at 6:59am.

The second death is centered around Jonathan Roberts, a 39-year-old man serving a 15-year sentence for 1st Degree Robbery, and another 15-year sentence for 1st Degree Kidnapping, as well as a 6-year sentence for violence against an employee or inmate from Dekalb County. Roberts was pronounced deceased at 10:48pm on Tuesday, March the 5th.

Autopsies were announced to be planned for both, and investigations are ongoing.
