Two Suffer Injuries in Salem, MO. Area Crash

Salem, MO. – Two vehicles have been involved in a crash in Dent County, a few miles North of Salem, MO., and the drivers were injured as a result.

The location of this crash was Highway 72 North of Salem, and it is reported to have occurred during the morning hours at 5:45am. of Monday, September 18th.

The report goes on to state that the driver of a Chevy Tahoe, identified as 28-year-old Jeff City resident Trent Corbett, fell asleep behind the wheel, crossed the center line, and struck a Chrysler 200. The Chrysler was being operated by a resident of Salem, MO., 62-year-old Steven Hampton.

Both Corbett and Hampton were inflicted with moderate injuries as a result of the accident. Corbett received care on-scene and was released, while Hampton was transported to Salem Memorial for treatment.

Trooper C.B. Townsend of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop I was the investigating officer of this accident.
