Rolla, MO. – Three people have been confirmed deceased, and two more have been injured in a four-vehicle crash that occurred near Rolla.
This serious crash occurred on August 30th at 8:53 p.m. on Highway 63 near Brays Lake, South of Rolla. A Northbound driver from Newburg, MO., Patrick Perry, 61, crossed the center-line with his Chevy Monte Carlo and struck the side of a GMC Yukon before then striking a Ford Focus head-on. The force of the secondary collision caused a rotation of both vehicles in the roadway. A Ford F150 then struck the Monte Carlo, which directed it into a rock bluff on the right side of the roadway.
The Newburg driver suffered fatal injuries, as did a pair of teens in the Ford Focus, identified as Michael Sutton, 18 of Edgar Springs, and Grace Gorman, 19 of Rolla. The driver of the GMC Yukon, a 16-year-old female, and one passenger, an 11-year-old male, both of Edgar Springs, suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident.
Investigation on this crash was performed by Corporal J.E. Bellers and Major Crash Investigation Unit Sergeant G.D. Ward of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop I.
