Two Vehicle accident near Mansfield sends St. Louis man to the hospital

A St. Louis man was taken by ambulance to Cox Hospital in Springfield after hitting a dump truck east of Mansfield. The incident occurred at approximately 10:59AM on June 8, 2021, one mile ease of Mansfield on Highway 60. Corion Morris, 29 of St. Louis was driving his 2020 Ram 3500 westbound on Highway 60 and attempted to overtake the dump truck driven by Randall Jenkins, 66 of Seymour. Morris rear-ended Jenkins, causing both vehicles to exit the right side of the roadway.

Jenkins, wearing his safety device, was uninjured in the accident with the dump truck sustaining moderate damage. The Ram truck driven by Morris was totaled and Morris sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Cox Hospital in Springfield. It is unknown if Morris was wearing his safety device.
