Two vehicle accident turns into three vehicle accident in Norwood

Willow Springs – Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a two vehicle accident last night that became worse after another vehicle crashed into the scene.

Wednesday evening at 9:40 PM Corporal T. Brown with MSHP responded to a two vehicle accident near the intersection of US 60 and Route C in Norwood. The 1999 Chrysler Sebring, driven by Andrea Hurst, 37 of Mountain Grove, traveled off the right side of the road, struck a post. Hurst then overcorrected, crossing both lanes of traffic and the median, and into the path of a 2004 Ford F250 driven by Joshua Ogden, 37 of Pottersville. Both vehicles were totalled in the crash and Hurst suffered serious injuries and was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Hurst was not wearing a safety device.

At 9:45PM, five minutes after the initial crash, a 2012 Chevy Malibu driven by Ashley Beavers, 37 of Mountain Grove, struck the wrecked 2004 Ford F250. The Malibu was totalled in the crash and the F250 was further damaged. Beavers and her 2 year old juvenile passenger both suffered moderate injuries and were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Both Beavers and the juvenile were wearing safety devices.
