West Plains, MO. – A two vehicle crash near Mountain View on Friday has left the drivers of both vehicles in the hospital. The accident occurred on Highway 60, three miles east of Mountain View at 10:39 a.m.
An northbound 2001 Chevrolet 1500 driven by Collin Alford, 27 of Birch Tree, pulled into the path of a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Dalton Smotherman, 28 of Mtn. View, traveling eastward, totaling both vehicles.
Alford had been wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare. Smotherman, who not been wearing a seatbelt and suffered moderate injuries, was taken by air ambulance to Cox South in Springfield for treatment.
This accident was investigated by Corporal C. A. Kimes of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G.
