Two Vehicle Crash Involving Deer Injures Man & Child near Gainesville

Gainesville, MO. – A two vehicle crash involving a deer has injured two people near Gainesville on Thursday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred on US 160, two miles east of Gainesville at 9 p.m.

An eastbound 2008 Toyota Matrix driven by Mary Piland, 82 of Gainesville, struck a deer that was sent into the path of a westbound 2006 Chevy Impala driven by General Evans, 36 of Gainesville.

Piland had been wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured in the crash. Evans and his 3 year old male passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash and were transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Hospital in Mountain Home, Ar. for treatment. It is unknown if Evans had been wearing a safety device at the time of the accident.
